British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab visited the New South Wales Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) headquarters on Friday. The visit comes as the east coast of Australia welcomed the heaviest drenching in years, dousing some of the country's most damaging and long-running wildfires. Raab, accompanied by Australian Foreign Minister and United Kingdom High Commissioner to Australia, was shown around the headquarters by NSW RFS Commissioner.

British firefighters have assisted efforts to contain the fires throughout the latest fire season, and Kew Gardens in London is to help protect Australia's biodiversity in the emergency collection and storage of plant seeds in fire-stricken areas.
