Brazil’s massive gay pride parade back in person

A multi-colored sea of people marched in Brazil's most populous city of São Paulo during the Gay Pride Parade on Sunday. Organizers say they expect about three million people to take part in the parade.

The theme of the 26th edition of the parade was "Vote with Pride - for politics that represents us," emphasizing the fight for affirmative politics for the LGBT+ community.

Brazil still has an alarming number of violent deaths of people from the LGBT community, with a 33% rise from 2020 to 2021.
