Australian police said a 13-year-old boy who was allegedly driving a stolen car has been charged over a crash that killed three people late on Sunday. The crash occurred in the town of Maryborough, in the Queensland state, about 250 kilometers from Brisbane.

Three people were killed and another was “fighting for her life” in hospital, Acting Superintendent Brad Inskip of the Queensland State Police told reporters. And he also said the 13-year-old boy was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, three charges, and a charge of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. Queensland State Police Assistant Commissioner Brian Connors said the accident was “tragic" and would affect the local community.
