Bolivian hospital shutters doors after coronavirus outbreak

One of Bolivia's biggest hospitals closed its doors on Monday after a reported outbreak of coronavirus amongst medical staff, officials at the Hospital told media. According to reports, seven health professionals have reportedly become infected and the number is expected to go up further as officials await the results of others.

Medics in Bolivia have complained that resources such as personal protective equipment are lacking in the fight against the pandemic. Bolivia has put in place strict quarantine rules to tackle the spread of coronavirus. Police have been put on duty to stop any unauthorized public gathering. As of Monday, Bolivia has confirmed over 18,000 coronavirus cases and more than 600 deaths.
