Blinken: US-Vietnam relations 'robust'

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Hanoi on Saturday two weeks after the 50th anniversary of the U.S. troop withdrawal from Vietnam that marked the end of America’s direct military involvement in the country.

Blinken described relations between America and Vietnam as "robust" and "dynamic" as he outlined aims to deepen the nations' partnership.Antony Blinken, U.S. Secretary of State said "A decade since the United States and Vietnam launched our comprehensive partnership, and nearly 28 years since we normalized relations, our nations have forged a relationship that is robust, dynamic and consequential.

I'm here at the behest of (US) President (Joe) Biden to further broaden and deepen that partnership." During the visit, Blinken met with Vietnamese General Secretary Nguyen Phuj on Saturday following a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

They agreed to bring ties to a new level.Blinken also visited Hanoi University of Science and Technology where he was given demonstrations in AI technology including robotic arms.
