Bilateral Relations: Myanmar-China Media Dialogue held in Nay Pyi Taw

Myanmar-China Media Dialogue was held in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday, commemorating the 75th anniversary diplomatic relations between the two countries. Deputy Minister for Information U Ye Tint attended the opening ceremony and made a speech, saying the friendly relations between the two countries will further strengthen through media cooperation.

He acknowledged the media coverage of Chinese media during the rescue and relief measures of the devastating earthquake, providing timely information to the world and supporting in the relief measures. He reaffirmed to enhance cooperation in media sector in line with the developing technologies, and to promote friendship between the two people.

Charge d'Affaire of the Chinese Embassy Ms. Cao Jing also made a speech, highlighting the efforts for media cooperation between the two countries. This was followed by discussions on media cooperation during crisis, future cooperation for post-earthquake recovery efforts and exploring new opportunities for bilateral cooperation.

Officials from Myanma Radio and Television, Media Development Department, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, Myanmar Institute for Strategic and International Studies, Myanmar Press Council and China Media Group participated in the discussion.
