





Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) Prime Minister Senior General Min AungHlaing held a bilateral meeting with Chinese Premier Mr. Li Qiang during his visit to Kunming in China on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the Chinese Premier expressed his heartfelt welcome to the delegation, highlighting the deepening Pauk Phaw relations between the two neighbours. He added that the two countries have overcome the challenges and political developments with unwavering friendship, and stressed to promote the existing friendship and cooperation.
The SAC Chairman expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality of the Government of the People’s Republic of China and officials and congratulated for successful holding of 75th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and 3rd Plenary Session of 20th Chinese Communist Party Central Committee.
He expressed his hope, saying that this meeting could promote closer bilateral cooperation in the regional and the international arena, in addition to discuss matters on promoting existing friendship and cooperation. He affirmed Myanmar’s support on One-China Policy, and expressed thanks to the support of China for the damages caused by Typhoon Yagi.
He added that China ranked second among the 52 countries making investment in Myanmar, and special emphasis has been paid to the safety of Chinese investments, projects and its citizens. He added that further discussion and cooperation will be made for economic development,providing technical assistance, cooperation and energy security.
In addition,construction of Muse-Mandalay-Kyauk Phyu Rail Road will commence depending on the situation of the area. He reiterated that it is heartening to see the active economic outlook and energetic cooperation by the Chinese entrepreneurs and potential investors in Myanmar during meeting with them in Kunming.
He pledged to provide necessary assistance and cooperation. Regarding the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor, he said Myanmar is paying special attention to the project and stressed to make thorough discussion on the plans for agriculture, sports, health and rural development sectors.
The SAC Chairmanalso explained the efforts for peace process, saying that the MNDAA, TNLA and AA need to show decisive action for their willingness to peace in order to proceed to the dialogue.He emphasized that prevailing peace, stability and development in border areas is crucial for promoting economic and trade activities. He stressed the need to eradicate illegal businesses and trades that support the armed insurgents in border areas. He also reiterated the implementation of Yuan-Kyat Direct Payment system for promoting border trade.
The Chinese Premier pledged their full supports for peace and stability in Myanmar, affirming their stance as a good neighbour. He praised Myanmar’s efforts for tackling the armed conflicts by mean of political way, stressing their support on the 5-Point Road Map of the State Administration Council and pledged to provide assistance for successful holding of the election. He added that prevailing peace and stability in northern Myanmar is crucial and reiterated their recognition on the sovereignty and land ownership of Myanmar.He affirmed that China will never accept any action that harms Myanmar's interests within its territory.
The bilateral border gates will be managed by the government, and further actions will be taken to ensure their full operation. He also added that the situation in Myanmar is of concern to China, and that China will continue to offer its support on the international stage.
Then, the exchange of MoU and MoA between China and Myanmar continued. The Myanmar Consulate-General Office in Kunming and the Chinese Consulate-General Office in Mandalay signed MoUs on the exchange of a land lease agreement, upgrading of training, chemical needs and a plant for pest and disease control for agricultural products, accurate measurement technology collaboration, and another MoA between Standardization Administration of China (SAC) and the Department of Research and Innovation (DRI) of Myanmar, including sports sector promotion.
During that session, the relevant officials of the two countries inked seven MoUs and MoAs and exchanged them in the presence of the Senior General and the Chinese Premier. After the bilateral meeting, the Senior General and the Chinese Premier cordially greeted the officials attended from both countries.
