






During the state visit to Laos, the President’s wife, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, visited the Lao Silk Textile Museum and the Lao Art Museum. At the Silk Museum, she was welcomed by the Lao President’s wife and officials, toured exhibitions of traditional Lao silk products.
The Lao Silk Textile Museum is an important cultural heritage museum and exhibition hall located in Vientiane. It was officially opened in October 2024 as the “Lao Silk Residence” by the Lao Handicraft Association, under the leadership and support of Ms. Naly Sisoulith, wife of Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith. The museum building combines French colonial-era architectural design with traditional Lao architectural styles.
It serves as a place where visitors can comprehensively learn about the traditional silk culture of various ethnic groups across Laos in one location.
Daw Kyu Kyu Hla later visited the Lao Art Museum, which displays traditional and modern Lao artworks including paintings and sculptures. The Lao Art Museum was opened on January 5, 2025. It displays artworks from different periods of Laos, including paintings and sculptures, all in one place.
The museum features works by both veteran and young artists. Exhibits include traditional Buddhist statues as well as modern and imaginative sculptures, oil paintings, watercolors, and other artworks, arranged in different sections for visitors.
