Bilateral Meeting: President holds talks with Lao Prime Minister

President U Min Aung Hlaing held talks with Prime Minister of Laos Sonexay Siphandone at the Prime Minister's Office in Vientiane on Friday.

Both leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation in various areas, including trade, transport, education, health, culture, defence, energy, and regional security. They also agreed to promote cross-border cooperation, including improving border trade, infrastructure, and joint efforts to combat drug trafficking, online scams, and transnational crimes.

The two sides further discussed expanding cooperation within ASEAN and regional frameworks, as well as enhancing economic development projects, including hydropower and environmental protection efforts. The meeting ended with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepen friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Laos.
