
The European Union's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier was seen walking through the EU Commission building on Sunday afternoon, as EU and UK negotiators battled against time to agree a trade deal.
The two sides appeared stuck on the issue of fishing rights after the UK leaves the EU's economic embrace at the end of this month.
UK Health Secretary, Matt Hancock said ""I'm sure that a deal can be done. But obviously it needs movement on the EU side, and I'm an incredibly pragmatic politician and I want to see a deal.
But I also think that the EU demands are unreasonable and they're not demands that can be accepted. So we do need to see that movement from the EU side.
And I very much hope that they make the steps that are necessary so that we can conclude a deal and then we can all look forward."
Britain left the bloc at the start of this year, but a 11-month economic transition period ends on Dec. 31. European Parliament lawmakers have said that any agreement would need to be completed by Sunday if a deal were to be ratified by the end of the year. But the negotiations are expected to continue beyond Sunday's provisional deadline.
