Bangladesh issues nationwide 72-hour heat alert

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a 72-hour nationwide heat alert, saying the ongoing heat wave is expected to continue in most parts of the country. Severe heat wave is sweeping over Bangladesh and country’s maximum temperature is recorded 42.6 degrees Celsius in Jessoreon Saturday.
Meanwhile, the government has decided to keep all primary, secondary schools and colleges closed from 21st to 27th April due to the heat wave sweeping over the country. The decision was taken considering the health safety of the students going to the schools.
