Japan's defense minister meets with US defense secretary in Hawaii

Japan's Defense Minister Kihara is greeted by US Defense Secretary Austin as he arrives for a meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii on Thursday.

The defense chiefs of Australia, Japan, the Philippines and the United States arrived in Hawaii to discuss "regional security integration" and "a free and open Indo-Pacific."Defense officials said the talks would continue the allies’ “historic progress” on cooperation in their defense industries and military activities, including air and missile defense.
