A wayward shark has become an unlikely celebrity in South Korea, drawing an estimated one million people to a waterfront park in Busan after it was spotted swimming in its waterway.

Alessia Faliti, Visitor from Switzerland said "I was surprised that it was so big. But also I felt really bad for him. Because when you see it on the news, it's just written that “There is a shark”. But then you see the actual animal suffering."

The predator believed to be a bull shark popped up in an artificial waterway in Busan this month. Busan Mayor Chun Jae-soo has thanked the shark for publicity that would otherwise have cost "trillions". In tribute to its contributions, the shark was elected an honorary public relations ambassador for the city with a stonking 91 percent of the vote.
