An Australian camera man was struck by police in Washington, D.C. on Monday. Seven Network journalist Amelia Brace was speaking live on air when police rushed protesters where Brace and cameraman Tim Myers were stationed. As the crowd began running back, footage shows a police officer turning towards Myer and lunging a fist into the camera lens.

The advance came just moments before U.S. President Donald Trump appeared in the Rose Garden to announce he was deploying thousands of heavily armed soldiers and law enforcement to stop violence in the U.S. capital and vowed to do the same in other cities if mayors and governors fail to regain control of the streets.
