




A total of about 16.5 tons of relief aids worth over 53,000 USD provided by ASEAN countries to MOCHA cyclone-affected people landed at Yangon International Airport by Malaysian airline aircraft on Friday morning.
Officials of the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre), Yangon Region Natural Disaster Management Center and concerned officials inspected relief supplies that are arrived for the 3rd batch.
The third batch of relief supplies are 52 packages of AHA-branded kitchen utensils that can be used by 5 family members, 210 packs of Shelter Tool Kit and 280 tarpaulin bags, totaling 542 bags which is about 16.5 tons of cargo and these items will be handed over to officials to send to storm-affected people.
ASEAN countries provide humanitarian assistance to cyclone victims. The government practices the plan “No one left behind in providing relief aid and assistance” and under the supervision of Natural Disaster Management Center, measures are being undertaken in cooperation with respective region and state governments in a timely manner and it is also fully cooperating with AHA center and international organizations.
