New Zealand's prime minister on Friday said her country had "fundamentally changed" in the wake of the country's deadliest modern-day mass shooting. A lone gunman attacked two mosques in the city of Christchurch on 15 March last year, leaving 51 people dead.
She also focused on the impact of some of the measures introduced by her government following the shooting, including the ban on semi-automatic weapons and assault rifles and the so-called Christchurch Call. The latter is a global pledge to step up efforts to keep social media platforms from being used to spread hate, organise extremist groups and broadcast attacks.
