




The Anti-Corruption Commission and the Ministry of Ethnic Affairs jointly held an anti-corruption awareness seminar on Monday, attended by Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman U Sit Aye and other relevant officials.
Speaking at the event, the Union Minister emphasized that holding anti-corruption awareness seminars enables governmental organizations and their personnel to avoid corruption by understanding its negative impact, the provisions of anti-corruption law and the associated criminal penalties.
He added that a clean government and a good governance can only be implemented with civil service personnel who are free from the corruption. Furthermore, the ministry has established a Corruption Prevention Unit (CPU) and is actively striving to eliminate corruption in accordance with directives.
The Union Minister urged all to participate in the anti-corruption process by adhering to the law, by-laws, rules, and regulations and to become ethical civil service personnel free from corruption, serving the interests of the state and its people.
Afterward, the Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman highlighted the commission's activities, noting that they are providing the necessary technology to implement the Public Feedback Program (PFP) and have negotiated with relevant telecom companies to reduce SMS costs for receiving public feedback.
Then, the relevant officials from the Anti-Corruption Commission gave sector-wise discussions on the anti-corruption law, the nature and prevention of corruption, and the importance of integrity and ethical standards, respectively.
Additionally, Commission Member U Maung Maung Tint led discussions with the Corruption Prevention Unit (CPU) about the experiences, strengths, weaknesses, and reviews of their activities in corruption prevention.
