Animal Census Enumeration: Townships in Nay Pyi Taw and 13 regions and states

The accurate number of animals is necessary in conducting development process of the livestock sector and animal infectious diseases prevention measures more effectively. That’s why animal census enumeration is started to carry out since 2018 across the country.

The National level animal census enumeration will be conducted every 5 years and the interval enumerations are also being carried out to ensure the changes of animal’s number yearly.

The 2nd National level Animal Census Enumeration 2023 will also be conducted in 215 townships of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and 13 regions and states.

The Department of Livestock Breeding and Veterinary carried out the animal census enumeration across the country from 1979 to 1994 annually. But the enumeration process couldn’t be carried out from 1994 to 2017, but the numbers of the animal were calculated by using estimated figures during those years.
