Amyotha Hluttaw Session: 19th day of 2nd regular session held

The 19th day of the second regular session of the third Amyotha Hluttaw was held on July 20th at 1:30 PM in the Amyotha Hluttaw meeting hall at the Hluttaw building in Nay Pyi Taw.

Out of the total 209 Amyotha Hluttaw representatives eligible to attend, 204 were present, it is learnt. Following this, according to the agenda, Amyotha Hluttaw representatives including Daw Aye Chan Mun ဒေါ်အေးချမ်းမုံ from Mon State (Constituency No. 6), U Thein Myint from Mon State (Constituency No. 11), U Rakwi Pung from Kachin State (Constituency No. 1), U Saw Thwin from Magway Region (Constituency No. 9), and U Aung Min Naing from Chin State (Constituency No. 9), raised questions.

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win, along with Deputy Ministers for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Ye Tint Tun and U Bo Bo Kyaw, responded and provided clarifications. Afterwards, the proposal submitted by Amyotha Hluttaw representative U Myo Than from Ayeyawady Region (Constituency No. 6), urging the Union Government to amend Section 103, Section 104, sub-sections (a), (b), and (c), of Section 106 and sub-section (a) of Section 112, under Chapter 12 of the Farmland Law 2012, Notification No. 2/2012, was discussed by the Hluttaw representatives.

Subsequently, the Speaker of Amyotha Hluttaw announced that further discussions by remaining representatives, responses by Union-level organization members, and the Hluttaw's final decision on the proposal would be continued at the 20th day session scheduled for July 22.The 19th day of the second regular session of the third Amyotha Hluttaw was then adjourned, and the 20th day session will resume on July 22, it is reported.
