







A work coordination meeting on the collaboration of related sectors for the development of agricultural and livestock breeding sectors was held at the office of Mandalay Region Agricultural Department with the attendance of Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo and Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Maung Ko.
In his remark, the Union Minister said the Mandalay region is addressing the agricultural and livestock breeding.
The related sectors need to make collaborative efforts for the high yielding of crops, water supply for the extension of double crops cultivation area and using irrigation water without wasting, fully utilization of mechanic farming and for the achievement of contract farming system.
The agricultural and livestock breeding institutes have been opened in the regions and states to turn out the human resources with the skills required in the agricultural and livestock breeding sector.
Starting from coming academic year, the high school level agricultural and livestock courses will be taught at the high schools which favor the circumstances.
All are urged to cooperate at the possible ways to be able to open the agricultural and livestock breeding institutes. Next, the chief minister encouraged to make endeavors from the corner that can show own ability in a bid for the region to be reliable one in the regional food security and uplift in export items, the regional government will support for the requirements and to address for the accurate statistics and leveling up per acre production rate.
Afterwards, the directors general of directorates and head officers of the region clarified the implementations in the related sectors and the union minister and chief minister supplemented necessaries.
The Union Minister also met with the chairman and members of Myanmar Coffee Association at Shwe Nan Htaik Hotel in Pyin Oo Lwin in the evening on September 3rd and discussed to expand the coffee cultivation to be major export item to the international market.
