Agricultural Development : MOALI Union Minister visits Thayawady

The Agricultural and Livestock Institute in Thayawady of Bago Region will be upgraded to college level, Union Minister U Min Naung said during an inspection of the teaching and practical training activities at the institute.

He instructed officials to make the necessary preparations for the upgrade. The Union Minister also met with teachers and students from the Thayawady, Dawei and Kyauktaw Agricultural and Livestock Institutes. He urged them to develop qualified human resources for the agriculture sector and to contribute to farmers and the country’s agricultural development after graduation.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister inspected a 100-acre monsoon paddy field in the catchment area of the Thonese Dam and discussed ways to increase agricultural production and achieve target yields.
