






Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Aung Zaya visited the Yangon Technological University on 20th May and observed the efforts underway to reopen the university in June.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister inspected the main building and Lab room, and gave necessary instructions. He also met with the third year civil engineering students who are undergoing the Survey Camp, and instructed to strive in academic matters through practical engagements and theoretical lessons, and to effectively utilize modern software.
The Deputy Minister also visited the Solar Photovoltaic Research Laboratory, Myanmar-Japan Technological Development Centers-1 and 2 and met with students under the internship program from Polytechnic University (Maubin), West Yangon Technological University, Pyay Technological University and Technological University (Taunggyi).
The Deputy Minister stressed the crucial role of solar-powered energy, and urged all to study in detail at the laboratory which was established to assess the quality and performance of solar panels. He also emphasized the necessity for comprehensive and meticulous research as the renewable energy sector is poised to become a vital part of the future energy industry.
Following this, the Deputy Minister inspected the construction sites of the four-storey engineering building and the football field, urging that the projects be completed on time, meeting the set standard. He then inspected the cleaning and beautifying tasks in the university compound and the Russia-Myanmar Friendship commemorative monument at the main entrance of the university.
