AA Attack: A Civilian Died And Another Injured

A civilian died and another injured by the attack of AA group at the entrance of PonnaKyun in Rakhine State on 2nd June.

In the early morning on Tuesday, AA group detonated two remote control mines while the members of security force who are patrolling for Sittwe-PonnaKyun road section, arrived near KinChaung Bridge at the entrance of PonnaKyun.

Due to explosion, Zaw Min Oo, aged 35, who came from PonnaKyun to Sittwe by motorcycle, died and Win Naing Soe, aged 47, got injured. It is also learnt that there are also casualties among the members of security force.

The injured person was provided first aid treatment, and is now receiving treatment at the Defence Services Hospital in Sittwe. From 30th November to date, 15 civilian died and 53 injured due to the attacks by AA group, according to the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.
