





According to the invitation of Interpol, a Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Chief of Myanmar Police Force Maj-Gen Zin Min Htet attended the 90th Session of INTERPOL General Assembly heldat the National Centre in New Delhi, India from the 18th to 21st October.
At the opening of the General Assembly, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings.
The President of Interpol Executive Committee UAE Police Chief and the Chief of Indian Police Force delivered speeches.
In the first day of the General Assembly on the 18th October, the Operational Highlights and Presentation of INTERPOL’s Global Crime Trend Report 2022 was reported and the procedures relating to police mandates and effective cooperation in combating corruption and financial crime were explained.
On the 2nd day and the 3rd day of the Assembly, a total of 14 drafts of Interpol anti-crime proposals which will be implemented until 2025 including three draft proposals concerning administrative system of Interpol working groups were discussed and approved by voting.
On the 4th Day, the Interpol Executive Committee Vice President and two positions of the African Regional Executive Committee members were selected and approved by voting and the winners were appointed.
The Minister of the Interior of Austria announced to host the 91st Interpol General Assembly in Vienna, Austria, 2023.
It was followed by the closing ceremony of the 90thSession of INTERPOL General Assembly.
As the sidelines, the Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Chief of Myanmar Police Force Maj-Gen Zin Min Htet held separate meetings with the Director General of the CID of Malaysia and the Secretary of Interpol of Indonesia Police Force, the Chief Prosecutor of the Russian Delegation Leader, the Chief of Bangladesh Police Force, Chinese delegation leader and Interpol Executive Committee member, the Interpol General Secretary, the Interpol Criminal Combating In-charge and Executive Committee Member and the Police Chief of Thailand and discussed boosting cooperation, capacity building of Myanmar Police Force, more cooperation in security affairs, rule of law, drug elimination, combating gambling and cooperation for terrorism in Myanmar in line with Interpol rules and regulations.
The Myanmar delegation led by the Deputy Minister arrived back in Myanmar on the 23rd.
