





President U Min Aung Hlaing attended the 79th Martyrs' Day ceremony at the Martyrs' Mausoleum in Bahan Township, Yangon, on July 19 to pay tribute to martyr national leader General Aung San and other 8 Martyr leaders and also warmly met with families of the fallen martyr leaders.
During the ceremony, the President laid a wreath of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the mausoleum and offered Metta in remembrance of the Martyrs. He also highlighted the importance of national unity among all ethnic communities.
Across the country, the State flag was lowered at half-mast, and MRTV and MWD sounded a siren at 10:37 a.m. in memory of the martyrs. Observed annually on July 19, Martyrs' Day honors Myanmar's independence heroes and preserves their legacy for future generations.
Thousands of people visited the Martyrs' Mausoleum, the Bogyoke Museum and the Secretariat (former Ministers' Office) to commemorate their sacrifices and reaffirm the importance of unity, national solidarity and a peaceful future.
