Union Minister for the Office of the Union Government and National Security Advisor Lt-Gen Yar Pyae sent a message to Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Mr. Nikolay Patrushev on the occasion of the 75th Diamond Jubilee of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the two countries falling on the 18th of February 2023.
In his message, the Union Minister stressed that the Myanmar-Russian cooperation is based on the solid traditions of friendship and mutual respect through the test of time. During the past more than seven decades, the two countries have achieved significant success in multi-sector cooperation through cordial ties as a strategic partnership.
Taking this opportunity, he would like to emphasize that the bilateral interaction and practical cooperation in several areas including the defence, trade and economic, science and technology sectors are strengthening for the benefit and well-being of our peoples.
He also reaffirms the commitment to further advance and deepen the cooperation in all spheres and to strive of promoting security, peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region and global agenda in a cooperative manner.
Likewise, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Mr. Nikolay Patrushev sent a message to the Union Minister on this 75th Diamond Jubilee of the establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the two countries.
Through his message, the Secretary said that Myanmar-Russia ties traditionally have a friendly character and are based on mutual respect for the interests of each other. He is convinced that the cooperation between Moscow and Nay Pyi Taw in the field of security will contribute both to the prosperity of the two countries’ people and to the maintenance of stability in the whole Asia-Pacific region.
He looks forward to meeting the Union Minister personally in Moscow on 23-25 May 2023 on the margins of the XI International meeting of high representatives responsible for security matters to continue the constructive dialogue.
