30th Anniversary of MCDC: Donation of Htamane to the public by MCDC

On 1st of February, commemorating the 30th Anniversary of the Mandalay City Development Committee (MCDC), all the employees from the Committee held a Htamane festival and distributed Htamane made in the festival to the employees and the public.

The month of Tabodwe, the eleventh month in the Traditional Myanmar Calendar, is the time for a seasonable festival of making Htamane (glutinous rice).

Mayor, Mandalay City Development Committee, Kyaw San  said "This is our Myanmar traditional festival time and it coincides with the 30th anniversary of our Committee, so all the departments took part in this Htamane making festival."

Head, Public Relations & Information Dept. (MCDC), Tin Htun Oo said "15 teams took part in this Htamane making festival and we distributed Htamane to our employees and the public. This festival also included an entertainment programme. We arranged short drums beating to encourage the teams making Htamane."

In this commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the Mandalay City Development Committee, 70 Htamane giant pans were made and distribution to the public took place from 9 am to 3 pm.
