30th Anniversary Celebration: MOIP Pearl Jubilee organizes in Nay Pyi Taw

The Ministry of Immigration and Population marked its 30th Pearl Jubilee Anniversary with a ceremony held at its headquarters in Nay Pyi Taw on Sunday.

Union Minister U Myint Kyaing attended the ceremony and made a speech, highlighting the ministry's history, which dates back before independence, and its establishment in its current form on June 15, 1995.

He emphasized the department's main responsibilities, including immigration control, population registration, and census collection, and stressed the importance of adapting to modern systems and international standards through technology and skilled human resources. He also mentioned the achievements in work undertakings including the 2024 Nationwide Population and Household Census, voter list accuracy efforts, and implementation of the e-ID system, aiming to issue a Unique ID for every citizen. He urged all to serve with dedication and uphold the ministry’s values.

The event also included awarding certificates and cash prizes to outstanding civil servants and trainees, along with promotions for selected officers. School stipends and supplies were given to students from staff’s families. The event concluded with a video presentation, lucky draw, and lunch reception.
