Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing sent a message on the occasion of 28th Anniversary of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) which falls on 6th June.
In his message, the Prime Minister, on behalf of the Peoples and Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, extended warmest felicitations and best wishes to the Peoples and Governments of the BIMSTEC Member States. With satisfaction, the Prime Minister recalled his participation at the recently held Sixth BIMSTEC Summit, engagements with the esteemed BIMSTEC leaders, the adoption of the Sixth BIMSTEC Summit Declaration, the BIMSTEC Bangkok Vision 2030 and the Rules of Procedure for BIMSTEC Mechanisms as well as the signing of the Agreement on Maritime Transport Cooperation by the ministers.
He expressed his confidence that these achievements will reinvigorate the BIMSTEC process and inspire its transformation into a dynamic, results-driven organization that will deliver on the aspirations of the Member States. He added that the BIMSTEC Day reminds of the immense potential that lies within the region and the power of collaboration to achieve common goals.
He urged all to seize this opportunity to deepen cooperation, foster mutual understanding, and promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the Bay of Bengal region and for future generations. He called for building a stronger, more resilient Bay of Bengal community, overcoming common challenges.
