148th Anniversary of MR: SAC member delivered commemorative speech

Myanma Railways under the Ministry of Transport and Communications held the 148th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony at Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on May 1st.

At the ceremony, Member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister, and Union Minister for Transport and Communications, General Mya Tun Oo, delivered a commemorative speech honoring the 148th Anniversary of Myanmar Railways. 

Following this, the Managing Director of Myanmar Railways presented a report on the department’s activities during the 2024-2025 fiscal year and screened a commemorative video marking the 148th anniversary. 

After that, the Union Minister, Deputy Ministers, and Managing Director awarded honors to the best-performing railway divisions, factories, and hospitals during the 2024-2025 fiscal year, staff members who diligently fulfilled their duties over the past year, officers and staffs who worked tirelessly to prevent passenger risks and restore train operations quickly after natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes damaged railway sections, staff members who risked their lives to rescue those trapped in collapsed staff-housing due to the earthquake, and other employees who demonstrated exceptional dedication during the mentioned period. 

The event concluded with a group commemorative photo session.
