13th Caregiver Training Course: 9-week course for those aged 18 and above

Aiming to be able to care the elders systematically and to create job opportunities, the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement (MSWRR) has been conducting Caregiver training courses twice a year for those aged 18 and above.

Wai Wai Phyo Hlaing, Deputy Director, MSWRR said "We have been conducting Caregiver training course since 2015. Currently, we are conducting Batch 13th training course. The training course will last 9 weeks. A total of 330 trainees from Batch 1 to 12th already completed the training courses. People aged 18 and above and completed middle school education can attend the training. Most of the trainees are planning to go to Japan to work as a caregiver. "

Not only the officials from the Department of Social Welfare, but also the officials from the Department of Human Resources for Health, Public health Department and Department of traditional medicine under the Ministry of Health participate in the training. Likewise, trainers from the Department of Sports and Physical Education and Myanmar Red Cross Society and professors from the Department of Psychology from University of Yangon, psychologists and the other experts also help the training with elder’s mental health and physical fitness.

Currently, there are 23 trainees attending this 13th Batch training courses and the trainees who completed the 9 weeks courses will receive the Caregiver certificates issued by the Department of Social Welfare.
