“Seed Fair 2023”: MoALI Union Minister gave an opening speech

The Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung addressed an opening speech at the opening ceremony of “Seed Fair 2023” held at the compound of Agricultural Institute of Pyinmana Township in the morning on February 9 in honoring the 76th Union Day.

In his opening speech, the Union Minister said that the government is implementing food security, being nutritious, food safety and increase of farmers’ income regarding with the agriculture. The qualified seed which is a basic need for the high yielding of crops with good quality are being addressed to access easily required quantity and time.

For the development of seeds production sector, not only the citizen companies but also the foreign companies have been able to invest at 100% with the recommendation of MoALI. The seed production industry has been able to fulfill the domestic requirements as well as exported to oversea markets.

So, it’s a lucrative investment etc. Next, the Director General Dr. Ye Tint Tun of the Department of Agriculture clarified regarding with organizing Seed Fair 2023. Then, the Union Minister presented gift of vegetable seeds to the attendee farmers, the relevant farmers accepted and the union minister and guests posted for documentary group photo.

After the opening ceremony, the Union Minister, Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council and attendees observed the departmental exhibition booths, private seed selling booths, sample plantations as per the kinds of crops and the exhibition booths and seed experts explained necessaries.
