






Under the topic, “Human Resource Development”, the 19th Wednesday Roundtable Talks was held at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation on 1st March.
At the discussion, Union Minister U Min Naung said that the Ministry is carrying out for the development of agriculture sector that is the economic pillar of the state as well as production of agriculture and livestock products.
As they are the ones who are responsible for the agricultural sector, they have to interact with various fields. That’s why, they need to have technological skills but also to have qualification, experience and good ethics. ,/p>
At the same time, it needs to apply modern technology and strive for improving the ability and ideas along the agricultural production chain. Only then, will the agriculture sector develop harmoniously.
Later, the roundtable discussion was followed where experts from the Department of Fisheries, the Livestock Research Department and the University of Veterinary Science discussed arrangements for plans for human resource development, connect with relevant ministries for improving qualification, the role of formal-informal education, the needs of graduates at the external works, plans for improving qualification of educational staffs, the needs of Generalists and Specialists according to the condition of the State, the status of university and the output of academic publications and papers, plans to prevent depletion of fishery resources and so on.The Union Minister, Deputy Minister Dr Tin Htut, those presents, departmental officials from regions and states who attend the discussion online and external experts asked about they would like to know and gave suggestions.
