“Access And Safety”: Marking International Girls In ICT Day

A talk show and exhibition marking the International Girls in ICT Day was held at the Mandalar University on Monday, with the aims of understanding the ICT technologies that are commonly used in the daily environment and how to use effectively ICT devices.

Dr. Marlar Yu Aung, Pro Rector (Mandalar University) said “As technology advances, how the girls can innovate these technologies and how they can apply it. So we organized this program called safety girls. The purpose of the program is to understand ICT and we would like to know about the international situations in the ICT to the students.”

There is an ICT vinyl show and game programs. It also includes a briefing under safety girl program and it is an annual extra curriculum program. This is the first time for this university.

Dr. Aye Thandar Htay, Professor, Physics Department, Mandalar University said “It is also an event to discuss and exchange knowledge. Previously, it was held alternately in the respective countries. Now, we are holding a virtual event due to COVID 19 pandemic starting from 2019. This year’s theme is access and safety, so we mainly discussed on safety when we are using ICT.”

In accord with the advanced ICT, the information technology is essential and it is widely used in education and every sector. In addition, a vinyl on narcotic-drug awareness was set up in university’s compound.
