Committee Meeting : Development of Myanmar Special Economic Zones

The Central Working Committee for Myanmar Special Economic Zones held its meeting at the Ministry of Commerce in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

Chairman of the Central Working Committee Union Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr. Kan Zaw, Vice Chairman Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn, committee members and officials from the Thilawa, Kyaukphyu and Dawei Special Economic Zones attended the meeting.

The Union Ministers highlighted the importance of developing special economic zones to create jobs, increase production and exports, attract foreign investment and generate foreign income. The meeting also reviewed the progress of decisions made at the previous meeting and discussed ongoing activities and future plans for the three special economic zones.

The committee chairman coordinated the necessary actions and gave closing remarks.
