Humanitarian Assistance : Meeting with UNOCHA delegation

Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Ko Ko Lwin received Mr. Justin Brady, Head of Office of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

During the meeting, both sides made constructive discussions on UNOCHA’s ongoing operations in Myanmar, work implementation under the Letter of Agreement (LoA) signed between the Ministry and UNOCHA, ongoing efforts to extend the LoA, and further cooperation in the provision of humanitarian assistance.

They also emphasized on UNOCHA’s resource mobilization efforts to secure humanitarian funding for Myanmar and the status of funding approvals and matters relating to mine action being undertaken by the Department of Rehabilitation.
