Thadingyut Full Moon Day, an auspicious occasion of Abhidhamma Day on October 26, pagodas, stupas and monasteries across Magway Region were crowded with devotees performing meritorious deeds.

At the 2,590th Buddha Pujaniya Festival of Myathalon Pagoda in Magway, ceremonies were held, as in previous years. The activities included inviting members of the Sangha and offering alms and other offertory items, continuously reciting the Maha Pathana, offering 9,000 oil lamps, 9,000 flowers and 9,000 incense sticks, and launching hot-air balloons as part of the “Anya Myay” balloon festival.

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko and his wife, together with officials, attended the festival.

The Region Chief Minister and officials then proceeded to the hot-air balloon launch site, where the “Anya Myay” balloon festival was held under the auspices of the Region Government during the Thadingyut festive period. A total of 14 large Sein-Na-Pan hot-air balloons, along with 3,000 small balloons, were launched. The event was celebrated in a lively and festive atmosphere, with local residents and pilgrims joining in the festivities.
