South Korea officially proposed military talks with North Korea on Friday, to clarify the exact location of the inter-Korean border and prevent accidental clashes following a recent landmine explosion in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).

Seoul proposed holding talks at Panmunjom to confirm the Military Demarcation Line (MDL), restore military communications, and prevent skirmishes, leaving open the possibility of a trilateral meeting with the UN Command.  Additionally, the South Korean defense ministry said three-way talks involving the United Nations Command would also be possible.
