Electricity Transmission: Power supply restored at damaged substation in Kyaikto

Electricity supply has been restored to Saung Naing Gyi, Mae Yone Gyi, Mae Yone Lay and Win Kalaw villages in Kyaikto Township of Mon State, following repairs to the damaged 33/11 kV, 5 MVA Saung Naing Gyi Substation.

According to the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, the substation’s control room was damaged by two drop bombs, attacked by terrorists on September 30. Electrical technicians, working with local residents, repaired damaged control cables, power cables and other equipment, completing the work on October 19. Electricity distribution to the four villages resumed normally that evening.
