Flooding has hit parts of south-eastern France after heavy rain brought by the Mediterranean weather system. The orange weather alerts for flooding and severe weather in southern France, has led to evacuations, motorway closures and travel warnings.

The storm Adam brings further heavy and thunderstorms to western parts of the Mediterranean. Some areas of Spain, France and Italy could see 200 to 300 mm of rain over the coming days, raising the risk of flooding and disruption.
