Many people and interest groups have been pouring money into the US midterms to sway the outcome. The New York Times reports that Elon Musk has spent more than 276 million dollars to help Republican candidates keep control of Congress, describing it as "one of the largest political donations" in US history.

The report, published on Sunday, said the paper obtained documents from people representing Musk. They show that the world's richest man gave more than half the money to the main super PAC supporting Republican Senate candidates.  Musk laid out 290 million dollars during the last election to help return President Donald Trump and the Republicans to power.
