India hosts East Asia summit conference on maritime security

India hosted the 7th East Asia Summit Conference on Maritime Security Cooperation from October 5 to 6 at Kochi of Kerala. Discussions focused on Regional Blue Economy Models and Ocean Governance Frameworks, Maritime Security and Safety Cooperation, Maritime Domain Awareness and Regional Capacity-building and Capability-enhancement.

The two-day conference is part of the ongoing implementation of the EAS Plan of Action to promote regional stability, freedom of navigation, and sustainable growth in the Indo-Pacific.
