Sri Lanka unveils new homes for low-income families

A major housing initiative targeted at low-income families across Sri Lanka marked World Habitat Day, with thousands of newly constructed homes vested with the public across multiple districts.

Under an island-wide development strategy, steps were taken to build 5,000 housing units aimed at providing long-term shelter security for under-resourced households. Key handing-over ceremonies took place across several regions, led by government officials and parliamentarians.
