Authorities confirmed that torrential rains and severe flooding struck northeastern Spain's Catalonia region, resulting in two deaths and one person missing. One person died in the municipality of Tordera after a structural wall collapsed during the heavy storm.

A second fatality was recorded in Montornès del Vallès, while emergency services and rescue crews actively searched for a missing person north of Barcelona. Spain's state meteorological agency along with regional weather service Meteocat issued red alerts as an exceptional Mediterranean weather system warned to potentially act as a "mini-hurricane" swept inland.

Authorities urged residents across high-risk zones to shelter indoors and avoid ground floors or basements near overflowing water bodies like the Besòs River.
