Bogota hosts Tejo World Championships with 18 nations participated

Bogota hosted the fourth Tejo World Championship, showcasing Colombia's only indigenous national sport. Teams from 18 countries are competing in this sport which involves throwing a metal disc at a clay-filled target box in an attempt to strike small packets of gunpowder, causing an immediate loud explosion.

Declared Colombia's national sport in 2000, Tejo is a source of national pride and recognized as part of the country's intangible cultural heritage in 2019.
