EAM S. Jaishankar holds bilateral meetings with counterparts

India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar held meetings with counterparts from Canada, Venezuela, Belarus and Mexico on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

In meeting with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand, Dr Jaishankar said the two sides had a productive discussion as India and Canada prepare to take their bilateral ties to a higher level. In a separate meeting with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia González, Dr. Jaishankar discussed current regional issues.

He said energy ties between India and Venezuela are gaining momentum, along with cooperation in other areas. Dr. Jaishankar also met Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov and Mexican Foreign Minister Roberto Velasco Álvarez on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
