Winter arrives early in southern Poland with the first snow

Meteorologists say 10-15 centimetres of fresh snow could accumulate by Wednesday in high Tatra Mountains. Tuesday morning temperatures on the Kasprowy Wierch peak (1987 meters above sea level) dropped to -2 degrees Celsius. This is accompanied by strong winds which could even cause drifts in the coming days. It is slippery and foggy, rescuers are warning against venturing above the forest line and mountain shelters.
