Election Observation: Myanmar delegation observes State Duma Election

A Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Maung Maung Ohn observed the election for the Russian State Duma on 20 September.

The delegation visited five polling stations in Moscow, where they observed various voting methods, including paper ballots, electronic voting machines, online voting, and home voting services for patients and senior citizens using either paper ballots or electronic voting machines.

In Moscow, most voters who used paper ballots were senior citizens and people with illnesses. Senior citizens and other eligible voters who are unable to travel to polling stations can also contact the polling stations to arrange for voting at home. According to polling station officials, there were no crowds at the polling stations due to the extended voting period, the availability of online voting services, and the sufficient number of electronic voting machines.
