Pyidaungsu Hluttaw : 9th day meeting of Third Regular Session

The ninth day meeting of the Third Regular Session of the Third Pyidaungsu Hluttaw was held on Thursday at the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Meeting Hall in Nay Pyi Taw.

The meeting focused on issues including a motion to form a joint committee with suitable Union Assembly representatives to study, analyze, and draft proposed legislation regarding 43 provisions to be amended or supplemented in the 2008 Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, as well as the provisions contained in Parts 1, 2, and 3 of the Union Accord.

Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw then sought the approval of the assembly to establish the joint committee tasked with reviewing Constitutional amendments and drafting the bill. As the assembly agreed, the Speaker announced the formal approval to form the joint committee.

Afterwards, parliamentarians discussed the 2015 Annual Report of the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission. The Speaker subsequently announced that clarification on the report by the Myanmar National Human Rights Commission and the formal recording of the session by the assembly are scheduled for an upcoming Pyidaungsu Hluttaw meeting.
