Youth Festival : Myanmar joins International Festival of Youth 2026

The International Festival of Youth 2026 was held in Yekaterinburg of Russian Federation from 11 to 17 September. Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Youth Affairs Dr. Maung Thin attended the festival.

On September 13, Myanmar delegation oversaw the youth dialogue program. In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with the international representatives at the meeting hall of the Youth Festival Organizing Committee. The meeting focused on emergence of comprehensive youth network across the globe, finding solutions for the future aspirations of youth policy, establishment of national level strategies and digital transformation concepts.

In the evening, the Union Minister attended the opening ceremony of International Festival of Youth 2026. On September 14, the Union Minister met with the international representatives and made discussions on Myanmar’s youth policy implementation, national level strategic plans on youth policy and the current status of youth development promotion in Myanmar.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister joined the discussion on the National-Level Implementation of Youth Policies by International Youth Leaders. On September 15, Myanmar delegation visited sports training camp in Yekaterinburg and met with Governor Mr. Pasler Denis Vladimirovich.

They then visited the Palace of Youth Center, and observed the programs for teens, art innovation and local products. They later proceeded to  Military and Civil Youth Vocational Camp and participated in the training program.

The visit also included the gallery in Museum Complex where Buran-Class Orbiter, launched in November 1988 is being displayed. On September 16, the Union Minister met with Deputy Head of Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of Russia Mr. Denis Valerievich Ashirov, made discussions on signing MoU on Myanmar-Russia bilateral Youth Affairs and conducting ASEAN-Russia High Ranking Officials Meeting.

In the afternoon, Myanmar delegation met with Deputy Secretary-General of the All-China Youth Federation and exchanged views on bilateral youth cooperation and responsibilities of ASEAN+3 Ministerial Meeting on Youth. 

Afterward, the delegation met with the permanent secretary of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of India, frankly discussed the signing of MoU on bilateral  youth cooperation and requisite assistance on youth sector development.

In the evening, Myanmar delegation participated in the closing ceremony of International Festival of Youth 2026. A total of 22 international representatives and 10,000 young people from 190 countries participated in the festival.
